1. Who we are

KeenWP is a curated WordPress intelligence website. KeenWP operates this site and is responsible for the information described in this policy. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@keenwp.com.

2. Information we process

Ordinary browsing and technical logs

You can read KeenWP without creating an account or giving us your name or email address. Like most hosted websites, our infrastructure providers may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, timestamps, referring page, response status, and diagnostic or security information.

This information is used to deliver the website, maintain reliability, investigate errors, and protect the service from abuse.

Anonymous voting

KeenWP creates an opaque random visitor identifier only when you cast your first vote. The raw identifier stays in an HttpOnly first-party cookie on your browser. KeenWP applies a keyed one-way hash to that identifier and stores only the resulting visitor hash with the post identifier and your vote value.

The voting identifier does not contain your name, email address, or article-reading history. It is used to remember your vote and enforce one vote per browser profile and post. Clearing the cookie or using another browser creates a new anonymous voting identity.

Email correspondence

The contact links on KeenWP open your own email application; the website does not contain a contact form. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any other information you choose to include. We use it to respond, review corrections or source suggestions, and maintain necessary correspondence.

3. Cookies

The voting cookie is marked HttpOnly, Secure in production, and SameSite=Lax. It is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or audience analytics.

Authorized administrators use separate authentication cookies on the private admin area. Those cookies are not created for ordinary public visitors.

4. How and why we use information

KeenWP processes information to:

  • serve and secure the website;
  • provide the voting feature you request;
  • maintain accurate aggregate vote scores;
  • diagnose failures and prevent misuse;
  • respond to emails, corrections, and source suggestions; and
  • meet applicable legal obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, KeenWP generally relies on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, providing functionality you request, responding to communications, and complying with law. Where consent is legally required, KeenWP will request it before the relevant processing.

5. Service providers and disclosures

KeenWP uses service providers to operate the website. They may process limited information on our behalf and under their own contractual and security obligations:

  • Vercel provides website hosting, delivery, runtime, and technical logs.
  • Supabase provides the hosted database, authentication for the private admin area, and public source icon storage.
  • OpenAI helps classify imported feed titles. KeenWP does not send visitor voting identifiers, browsing activity, or contact correspondence for this classification.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer. KeenWP does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising.

These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers.

6. External links and ChatGPT

Post titles link directly to independent publishers. The “Summarize in ChatGPT” link opens ChatGPT with the article title and URL placed in a query parameter. KeenWP does not call the ChatGPT API for this feature.

When you choose an external link, the destination website receives your request and may collect information under its own privacy policy. KeenWP does not control the privacy, cookies, or content practices of those third-party websites.

7. Retention

  • The anonymous voting cookie expires after no more than one year.
  • Hashed vote records are retained while needed to preserve vote history and integrity, or until the related vote or post is deleted.
  • Technical logs are retained according to operational, security, and hosting-provider requirements.
  • Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the conversation, records, or legal obligations.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Voting data is deliberately pseudonymous and is not linked to a name or email address, so KeenWP may be unable to identify a specific voting record from an email address alone. To ask a privacy question or exercise an applicable right, email hello@keenwp.com.

9. Security and children

KeenWP uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information it processes. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

KeenWP is intended for WordPress professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when KeenWP’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted when appropriate.
